California Assemblymember Mike Eng addresses a press conference at the Fifth Annual API Domestic Violence Task Force Training Event. Assemblymember Eng has written legislation to protect victims of domestic violence from revictimization. His Assembly Bill 688 requires that a person charged with misdemeanor domestic violence may not be released on their own recognizance until they first appear before a judge or commissioner.

75 trainees registered and attended this free training hosted by the Asian Youth Center of San Gabriel. The trainees represented therapists, youth counselors, substance abuse agencies, guidance counselors, the Department of Mental Health, and various community agencies throughout Los Angeles County.
