On Friday, October 5, 2007, Assemblymember Mike Eng held a press conference at the Asian Youth Center in the city of San Gabriel to recognize October 2007 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Community leaders and police chiefs from all of the cities within the 49th Assembly District joined Assemblymember Eng in denouncing domestic violence and encouraged the community to report such cases.
